  1. How are the containers used her aesthetically appealing to tourists and residents? Does the arrangement in the bottom image leave hidden unsafe corners? How will they be structurally sound considering the lands vulnerability to hurricanes and the recent earthquake?

  2. The containers will take on the look that is similar to the architectural style of Haiti and New Orleans. They would remain as modular units and they would be dressed up with ironwork and not be as rigid as I am have shown them here (time constraints limited my ability to illustrate what I had envisioned).

As far as the arrangement goes, my idea was that there is a variety of spaces created by each container. Some spaces would would be more secluded and intimate while others would be more open and easily accessible. Ideally, this pier system would be lit enough to limit any sort of safety concerns.

Structurally, the containers would be fixed together in such a way that they could easily be disassembled and stored in the event that a hurricane was heading toward Jacmel. That being said, I envisioned the containers being pretty adaptable to different configurations to better utilize space during festivals and other cultural events that take place in this city.
